(CNN) -- Finally, after 13 years of needless controversy, the British Medical Journal determined that Andrew Wakefield's vaccine-autism link constituted an "elaborate fraud."

Having already lost his medical license in the UK for unethical professional conduct, it is now time for him to be prosecuted.

Win an iPad through Child and Adolecent Bipolar Foundation

With Autism Women's Network bidding an early goodbye to Pepsi, I am asking for each of you to consider throwing your full support behind CABF [Child and Adolecent Bipolar Foundation] for these final few days in Pepsi Refresh December 2010. AWN was privileged to partner in the Good Dreams BIG 10 Alliance  with CABF throughout this past month, and it appears they have the best chance to win a $250k grant in their category.

My Children Want You To Know

My children want you to know that being of few words does not mean being of little intelligence.

My children want you to know that being socially awkward doesn't mean they cannot be wonderful, kind, loving and loyal friends.

My children want you to know that they stim because they need to, not because they are brats with little self-control who wish to irritate you. My children want you to know that they are not "picky", "wussy" or "incorrigible" because they cannot tolerate certain lights, sounds, fabrics or foods. They experience the world quite differently than you do from a sensory standpoint, and they are doing their best to process and handle all of it. Think of having the volume turned up on every one of your senses at all times.

Aspie Kid And School Tests

Hello all,

I am new here. Maybe you discussed this issue before I don't know. I would like to write about school and examinations that I had to take when I was a child or student with my peers.

SmartKnitKIDS® ~Seamless sensitivity socks have no seams!

Super soft socks with no seams for children with sensitivity differences!!  I sooo wish they would have had these when I was a child, and I know my mother would have been grateful as well!

I can't remember how many times I would sit in the middle of the floor and scream my head off because i would not want to put my shoes on because of the seams in my socks!

Finding Answers

There is a window of opportunity to affect child development, and it is crucial that you don't allow that window to close just because of your doubts.
Written by Mary Beth Palo

The population of children with developmental delaysis growing at an epidemic rate. Parents and teachers are facing many unknowns:

  • Is this child affected by a developmental delay?
  • If so, what is this delay?
  • How do we know what the problem is?
  • Where do we go to determine?
  • How extensively is he affected?
  • What do we do and how can we treat it?
  • How do we overcome the obstacles?

Answering these questions and taking a proactive stand can greatly affect the outcome of the child’s life. Implementing appropriate educational and medical strategies to treat a developmental delay can be a means to fill the gaps left empty by a developmental delay.
