FEEDBACK NEEDED ON THEME 'AUTISM AND WOMEN'

Hello fellow AWN members!

My name is Monique Post and I am a young woman with autism. I have set up a business in The Netherlands providing consultation services and lectures/workshops on autism.
I give lectures in The Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain and hope to carry on my work, helping to give a realistic view of the autism spectrum to the wider community.
Every year in April there is an Autism Awareness month, and this year I have been invited to participate in an live online discussion about ‘autism and women’ together with other professionals.

I would like to give as much of a united view on this subject and therefore need your feedback!
My question to you all;
“What would you find most important to express/share with the world on the theme of autism and women?”
Please do include whether you have a diagnosis or not so that I can compile your reactions.

Thankyou for your time!
Monique Post

First time here - Greetings

Hi,

I joined Autism Women's Network, because I'm a filmmaker producing a documentary about black women with AS.  I started 10 years ago when I first heard about AS; overtime I've met more and more women.  We've become friends and collaborators on this project.  Take a look at the website for "ASPIE Girls".  http://aspiegirlsmovie.com/.

I live in Atlanta and the production is in Washington D.C/Maryland.  Yes, I have to travel to the D.C. area and I enjoy each trip.

That's my introduction and I'll be back.

Thanks.
