Workshop for girls with Autism/Aspergers [Virginia]

PVBIA Workshop for Girls with Autism/Aspergers Navigating the Teen Years

May 17, 2010 (7:00--8:30PM EST)  [Make-up, Hair, and Personal Hygiene- Burke VA
In our first class, we will discuss, demonstrate, and exchange tips on makeup, hair, and the importance of maintaining personal hygiene.]
This is a new class for us and one that will serve a group of people with autism we do not usually reach but we hope to do more!

Lindsey (a women with autism) and Nas (a women who has worked with children and teens with autism for 5 years) are really excited about helping this small group of 7 girls through a program that should build their understanding of the world and themselves.

Girls in this program should be between 14 and 18 years old with High Functioning Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. This means lots of spontaneous and appropriate language but lots of awkward social skills ;-) We will be unable to work with those with aggressive behaviors, escapes issues or self-injurious issues in this program. Feel free to email me if you have a question about your child being appropriate for this program at smcgrail@poac-nova.org

This group is also to bond girls with one another. Please only register if you daughter will be able to attend all or almost all of the dates above.

Please feel free to ask questions at smcgrail@poac-nova.org
