first, I know you just said you are athiest, but start going to church.  If you a a member of a church it will look good to the judge.  Second get in contact with people you are close to.  Third if you move out take the kid with, judges don't like to change a child's situation if it is safe.  Fourth take a parenting course before the judge asks.  but before doing any of this try couples counciling, or family counciling.
